Glad to interview Paul Levinson about Robots, AI, and the history of Science Fiction. Paul is lucky to have his novelette “Robinson Calculator,” included in a volume of sci-fi about Robots spanning over 100 years. In our conversation we talk about the famous RUR story from Prague ~ 100 years ago. We discuss the different recurring and divergent motifs throughout robot literature and occasionally get a bit more present talking about ChatGPT and Roombas. While this isn’t a discussion so much about space, it is a discussion about the changing perceptions of technological futurism as imagined by artists – and that is the Jewish leadership we can provide now for the Space Age. Enjoy this interview, Paul and I had a hoot!
